Matte or semigloss brown, no white markings, black-shaded nose, darker brown ruff on neck and shoulders, many with dorsal stripe, tan antlers with black tips. Color varies widely, from dark chocolate brown to dark greyish-tan dun to a medium red chestnut. Early variation (1960s and 1970s) with pink nostrils.
